Students, residents, faculty inducted into Gold Humanism Honor Society
UF College of Medicine community members recognized for humanism in medicine
March 10, 2026 — In recognition of their commitment to humanistic goals in clinical care, leadership and service, 32 University of Florida College of Medicine community members were inducted into the Chapman Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society Feb. 7.
The national medical honor society recognizes graduating medical students, residents and faculty who demonstrate integrity, compassion and respect. UF established the Chapman Chapter during the 2002-03 academic year. The chapter sponsors academic events that emphasize humanism in medicine and conducts community service projects.
Medical students in the rising fourth-year class are selected by a committee that reviews peer evaluations of clinical competence, interpersonal skills, humanism and professionalism. Residents and faculty can be nominated for membership by both members and non-members of the society, and finalists are voted on by current members.
