Medical students raise funds for free local health clinics during annual talent show
Attendees raised money used to run the UF Equal Access Clinic Network
Jan. 22, 2025 — To kick off the new year, University of Florida medical students took a night off from studying and clinical rotations to celebrate the many hidden talents their peers have, from singing and dance, to stand-up comedy.
During Gators Got Talent: Through the Years, the Jan. 11 College of Medicine talent showcase featured throwbacks from years past, including performers’ childhood photos in the program. This year’s event featured Grant DuVall of the M.D. Class of 2028 as master of ceremonies and was organized by Joshua French, Anvitha Addanki, Pavan Reddy Gudoor, and Khushi Saigal. The talent show also raised more than $1,000 for the UF Equal Access Clinic Network through donations from attendees.
“It has been a privilege to be part of the Gators Got Talent organizing team and help my classmates share their talents and raise money for EACN,” French said. “I am humbled by the incredible talents of my classmates and all the work they’ve put in toward their performances. The talent show is so meaningful to me because it’s an opportunity for the college community, as well as family and friends, to gather and enjoy a night together for a good cause. The clinics provide vital care to so many people in Gainesville and the surrounding areas, and I hope the money we raised can help ensure continued high-quality care for these folks.”
