UF College of Medicine rises in 2023-24 U.S. News & World Report rankings
The college ranks No. 35 nationally and No. 1 in Florida for research
May 11, 2023 — The University of Florida College of Medicine rose in the rankings to No. 35 in the nation and remained No. 1 in the state of Florida for research by U.S. News & World Report in its 2023-24 rankings of best medical schools, released today.
The college’s research ranking is based on factors that include acceptance rate, faculty-to-student-ratio, federal research funding and a nationwide survey of faculty and academic administrators.
The college also ranked No. 33 — in the top third nationally — in the U.S. News & World Report diversity index. As reported via U.S. News & World Report’s annual survey in 2022, nearly one quarter of University of Florida medical students come from backgrounds that are traditionally underrepresented in medicine.

Rankings for physician assistant schools were also recently released, with the UF School of Physician Assistant Studies landing at No. 14 nationally, placing it in the top 5% of programs in the U.S.
