UF School of PA Studies class of 2019 receives white coats during ceremony June 1
June 6, 2018 — Students from the UF School of Physician Assistant Studies class of 2019 received their white coats in a ceremony held Friday, celebrating a rite of passage and marking the transition from didactic to clinical training.
The 59 students took turns stepping onto the stage of the Health Professions, Nursing, Pharmacy Complex auditorium, placing their arms into their new coats and sharing a handshake or hug with faculty members as friends and family cheered.
The ceremony concluded with students reciting the Oath of Practice for Physician Assistants, a modified version of the Hippocratic Oath.
“In the next phase of your education, you will develop the knowledge, skills, patience and humility needed to be an effective health care provider,” said Nina Multak, Ph.D., MPAS, PA-C, associate dean and director of the UF School of PA Studies.
