Whether you are a visitor to the UF campus or a seasoned staff or faculty member, it is clear that the campus is growing. Just this year UF&Shands has hosted a number of groundbreakings, grand openings and around every corner one can find fresh drywall, evidence of this continuous expansion.

“We continue to move forward to improve our patient care, medical education and research,” said Michael L. Good, M.D., dean of the UF College of Medicine, to a room full of university faculty and staff.

“What inspires me is that our improvement is moving faster than the rest of the nation,” he added.

Good and David S. Guzick, M.D., Ph.D., UF senior vice president for health affairs and president of the UF&Shands Health System addressed faculty and staff at the UF Academic and Professional Assembly’s Sept. 22 meeting. The APA is a UF organization sponsored by Human Resource Services.

Good and Guzick addressed variety of topics such as UF&Shands expansion plans for new programs and facilities, the new Chest Pain E.R., Family Medicine at Main, education curriculum changes, quality of patient care and the GatorAdvantage program, which provides the UF’s Health Science Center employees faster access to physicians and health care services on campus.
