Almost famous

For one evening, College of Medicine students, faculty and staff will step into the spotlight for The 2010 Talent Show. The annual talent show is a fundraiser for next year’s international health outreach trips, which serve student-organized trips to Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Mexico and Thailand.

The show, organized by the leaders of next year’s medical mission trips and first-year medical students Brett Bentley and Raj Machhar, will take place Saturday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at the P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School’s auditorium as part of Family Day activities.

During intermission, attendees will have the opportunity to shop for items collected by students during their travels as well as bid on silent auction items including:

-a weekend at the Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club

-a weekend at the Las Vegas Hilton

-a weekend getaway to a North Carolina mountain home

-a Danny Wuerffel, Steve Spurrier , Jon Gruden and Shane Mathews autographed football

-a Buffalo Bills jersey signed by Thurman Thomas

-four tickets to the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks

-four VIP tickets to Universal Studios Florida theme park

-an alpaca rug from Ecuador
